Commons-based Peer production

Refers to a socio-economic production model within which a large number of people cooperate (mostly virtually) and in a self-organised manner in less hierarchical structures to create a commons good (see digital commons). It differs significantly from classical models because it is not based on the production or use of proprietary knowledge.
